Artist Statement

Creativity and beauty always emerged from the thickness and flow of paint.

My recent work combines impasto style of painting with flow of paint. I am always fascinated by thick paint but at the same time attracted to the ability of the paint to flow and swirl. By mixing the right amount of various acrylic medium to acrylic paint, this effect could be achieved with occasionally some unexpected results. The thick physical body of paint speaks for themselves, they take shapes that represents my ideas, objects and subjects in mind. Some of my two dimensional works are created with a touch of three dimensional effect, by steady accumulation of puddle or swirl of paint. I am intrigued by the versatility of acrylic paints, naturally, it is my favorite media. Nevertheless, I constantly seek and experiment the right mixture of the paint with other medium so to achieve my intended techniques and composition.
